Donations sought for Haberman Campaign for Actuarial Science

Open-access content Wednesday 21st December 2011 — updated 5.13pm, Wednesday 29th April 2020

The Haberman Campaign for Actuarial Science was launched in 2010 to pay tribute to Professor Steve Haberman, director and deputy dean of Cass ?Business School who has been teaching and carrying out research at Cass for over 30 years...

2

The aims of the Campaign are to raise £1 million for the Faculty of Actuarial Science and Insurance. The funds would be deployed for the purposes of:

• Scholarships at both BSc and MSc level — given the rise in Higher Education fees, the Campaign wants to create a fund to encourage and support high-calibre students to study Actuarial Science at Cass

• Teaching — the Campaign wants to ensure that it can continue to attract and retain first-class teachers, as well as enable others from emerging economies to acquire the necessary teaching skills to be able to teach Actuarial Science back in their home countries

• Research — this continues to be vital and thus the Campaign wants to be able to support PhD and post-doctoral students to undertake important research for the benefit of the profession.

For further information about the Campaign and how to donate, please contact [email protected]
