SIAS Annual Dinner

Open-access content Friday 30th November 2018 — updated 9.48am, Wednesday 6th May 2020

SIAS held its 2018 Annual Dinner, which had the theme ‘Hollywood Glam’, at City Central at the HAC on 16 November.

The evening began in style: guests were greeted by the glitzy Meet & Greet Girls and treated to a cocktail and sparkling wine reception while enjoying the sounds of jazz music by The Dapper Dudes. The 700 guests were then invited into the main room for a three-course dinner under a ceiling of sparkling lights, during which the Showcase Performance took place; the audience was wowed with an array of old Hollywood musical numbers, tap dancing and a gymnastic display.

As is tradition, a charity raffle was drawn on the night, with more than £700 was raised for our chosen charities - Cancer Trust UK and the British Heart Foundation. Many thanks to our donors (High Finance Group, Arthur Financial, Barnett Waddingham, Oliver James Associates and XPS Pensions Group) for their generous prizes. If the entertainment on the evening was not enough, after dinner the dancefloor opened - and guests raced to the dodgems, which were hidden on the side of the venue.

The partying continued well into the early hours, with the hardcore staggering to the after-party at Amber Bar. SIAS would like to thank all guests who attended and made it such an incredible night. We look forward to seeing you all at our future events, including the Pub Quiz on 31 January 2019 - more information available on the SIAS website at www.sias.org.uk.
