IFoA Council: put to the vote

The environment that actuaries work in continues to change rapidly, and the IFoA relies on the expertise of our Council members to help guide us through the many challenges these changes bring. If you have the skills and experience to help us meet those challenges, I encourage you to consider standing for election to Council this year.

Council members are responsible for setting the vision and strategic direction of the IFoA, as well as providing effective and transparent governance to help us deliver upon our public interest objectives. The wide scope of these responsibilities provides you with a fantastic opportunity to share your insight and knowledge with your peers, and become a compelling advocate for the profession.

The IFoA is an increasingly global organisation, and we continually work to ensure the diversity of our membership is reflected in the profile of our

Council members. We therefore hope to see members from all over the world standing for election, to help provide a greater breadth of experiences and perspectives that Council, and the IFoA in general, can benefit from.

The window for nominations to Council will open in early to mid-April, and the voting window will open in mid-May. Keep an eye on our website for further details, and become part of writing the history of the actuarial profession.

Derek Cribb is the chief executive of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries
