In July, Neil Buckley was appointed chair of the IFoA Regulation Board. Prior to this, Neil was chief executive of the Legal Services Board, which is the oversight body for the legal regulators in England and Wales.

"I am delighted to take on the role of the chair of the Regulation Board," said Neil. "I would like to convey my thanks to my predecessor, Des Hudson. This is a time of uncertainty, not just in the political sphere, but also for the future regulation of the actuarial profession as changes are made to the Financial Reporting Council.

"A strong profession is supported and enhanced by effective regulation in the public interest. I look forward to working with board members, the Council and members of the IFoA to build on the work of the Regulation Board and to help shape the key decisions that will be made about the regulatory framework."
