IFoA research paper prizes

Each year, the IFoA seeks to recognise excellence in research through the award of prizes for exceptional research papers in actuarial science or related disciplines.

11 JULY 2019 | THE ACTUARY TEAM

Each year, the IFoA seeks to recognise excellence in research through the award of prizes for exceptional research papers in actuarial science or related disciplines. It is currently seeking nominations for papers to be considered for the Peter Clark and Geoffrey Heywood Prizes.

  • The Peter Clark Prize is awarded to the best paper written by members of the profession and intended for an actuarial audience.
  • The Geoffrey Heywood Prize considers material which demonstrates excellent levels of communication and engagement with an actuarial audience who are not subject matter experts.

Papers must have been presented to a mainly actuarial audience, such as at an IFoA conference or Sessional Research Meeting, between 30 June 2018 and 1 July 2019, and/or first published in final form (electronic or print) in an actuarial or related journal or conference/congress proceedings or transactions in the 2018 calendar year. All nominations will be assessed for both prizes. If you have read any outstanding papers that you think are eligible and should be recognised, the closing date for nomination submissions is Thursday 1 August 2019.
