In November last year Nick Salter, Master of the Worshipful Company of Actuaries, and a group of members and guests gathered at a country pub in West Sussex to watch the London to Brighton Veteran Car Run.

This event is the longest running motor event in the world, with the oldest car dating from 1893 and the newest from 1905.
More than 600 cars entered, with most drivers and passengers dressed in attire to match the age of the cars as we waved and cheered them along. There were a few famous faces, and some cars stopped off at the pub allowing us to take a closer look. We were blessed with a dry day and, as ever with Livery events, the best part was catching up with friends, meeting new people and, on this occasion, welcoming members who for various reasons have not been able to attend our London events in recent years.
We started with breakfast rolls from the barbecue and finished with a traditional Sunday lunch to round off an enjoyable morning.
