The IFoA's Membership Committee is delighted to report a 98% compliance rate for Fellow and Associate members in continuing professional development (CPD) category 2, for the 2016/2017 CPD reporting year. The committee was also pleased to report a 91% compliance rate for Student members in category 5 at the close of the CPD recording system on 31 July 2017. The Membership Committee would like to thank IFoA members for their support.

All members who are non-compliant with the requirements of their CPD category when the system closes on 31 July are given the opportunity to apply for an extension until 30 September to prove compliance with the CPD Scheme. Members applying for an extension will be charged an administration fee of £50.

The Membership Committee also recorded that most non-compliant members in CPD categories 2 and 5 did comply with their CPD requirements by the close of the 30 September extension period. Of the remaining 22 non-compliant category 2 members, five were referred for consideration under the Disciplinary Scheme for non-compliance with the IFoA CPD Scheme. The 94 non-compliant category 5 members had their membership lapsed.

Referral for CPD non-compliance under the Disciplinary Scheme can be avoided. If you do have any difficulties completing or recording your CPD activity, please do get in touch with the membership team at [email protected]

Our CPD Scheme enables you to demonstrate your commitment to professionalism, enhance your competencies in fast-changing markets and keep pace with business needs, so, whatever stage you are at in your actuarial career, you can stay ahead of the game.
