Call to actuaries for nominations

Open-access content Tuesday 6th February 2018 — updated 5.50pm, Wednesday 29th April 2020

Call for nominations - Jan 2018

Max Lander Award

This is a lifetime achievement award for a consulting actuary. It is named in honour of the late Max Lander, who was a founding member of the International Association of Consulting Actuaries (IACA) and initial treasurer. It is given to a member of the actuarial profession who has contributed to public awareness of its work and promoted the business of consulting actuaries. The 2018 award will be the eighth Max Lander Award to be presented.

Geoffrey Heywood Award

This is the Young Consulting Actuary High Achievement Award, named in honour of the late Geoffrey Heywood MBE, founding chair of IACA. Given to a young consulting actuary who has provided significant services to the public and the actuarial profession, 2018 will mark the third time the award has been presented.

The IACA awards subcommittee will decide who will win both awards. Please email your nomination with brief reasons to Brent Walker, chairman of the IACA awards subcommittee ([email protected]) with a copy to IACA chair Cathy Lyn ([email protected]) before 30 March. The recipient of the awards will receive a prize and a monetary award that is donated to an actuarial-related organisation of their choosing that promotes the development of the actuarial profession.

The awards will be presented at the IACA biennial general meeting in June in Berlin at the 2018 International Congress of Actuaries.
