CERA awards 4,000th credential

Open-access content Wednesday 6th September 2017 — updated 5.50pm, Wednesday 29th April 2020

The CERA Global Association (CGA) is pleased to announce that John Plonka has become the 4,000th person to earn the prestigious CERA (Chartered Enterprise Risk Actuary/Certified Enterprise Risk Analyst) credential.

The CERA Global Association (CGA) is pleased to announce that John Plonka has become the 4,000th person to earn the prestigious CERA (Chartered Enterprise Risk Actuary/Certified Enterprise Risk Analyst) credential.

He is a member of the Society of Actuaries (SOA) in the US and a manager on the integrated care partnerships team at DaVita Kidney Care, a division of DaVita Inc.

The CGA grants actuarial organisations the right to award the global CERA credential to individual actuaries who have satisfied the requisite education and training requirements.

Organisations are first subject to a rigorous review of their proposed CERA programme. Currently, organisations in Australia, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, India, Israel, Japan, the Netherlands, the Republic of China (Taiwan), South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, the UK and the US are authorised to award the CERA credential.

The qualification was established in the US by the SOA in 2009, when 14 national associations from 12 countries joined together to address the growing need for highly qualified risk professionals, especially in the finance sector.

If you have any queries, please email the CERA marketing project leader at [email protected]
