Actuary of the future: Danielle Bazun

2

How would your best friend describe you?

Enthusiastic, loveable nuisance.

What motivates you?

Having achievable goals that I can tick off along the way to a big one.

What is your personal motto?

In life you can only look forwards, not back, otherwise you'll walk into a lamppost.

Name five dream companions to be stuck on a desert island with.

Bill Nye the Science Guy, Bear Grylls and a doctor for survival, my dog for companionship, and Marcel from hip hop group Blazin' Squad.

What's your most 'actuarial' habit?

Automatically rounding to peculiar basis points and significant figures - very annoying.

Favourite Excel function?

VLOOKUP.

How do you relax away from the office?

Training for half-marathons and weight training at the gym.

Alternative career choice?

A maths teacher.

What song best describes your work ethic?

That Don't Impress Me Much by Shania Twain.

What is the funniest thing that has happened to you recently?

On Valentine's Day, some flowers were delivered to the office for Danielle B. I was so excited - only to find they were for another Danielle B.

Greatest risk you have ever taken?

Supervising a drunken housemate cooking a pizza on the hob after a night out.

If you could go back in history, who would you like to meet?

The artist Vincent van Gogh.

Who would play you in a movie about your life?

James Bond for the action and charm - Sean Connery, of course.

If you could be anyone else, who would it be?

A working dog, such as a guide dog for the blind or a mountain rescue dog.
