Over the past 10 years a number of IFoA members have visited Romania to teach actuarial courses to help in the development of the local actuarial association (Asociatia Romana de Actuariat) which is also a member of the IAA. The most recent was Dermot Grenham, who spent a week in Bucharest in June teaching 15 members of the Romanian Association the essentials of CA2. There was a week's worth of lectures, including reviewing past CA2 examination papers. The attendees worked hard to get to grips with the requirements around modelling, documentation and reporting. In the coming weeks they will be sitting an exam to test their knowledge.
