The Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA) have announced its five new honorary fellows today after a recent election at the request of the council.
The individuals were chosen for their achieved distinction in related fields, and/or significant service to the actuarial profession.
They join a list of over 100 honorary fellows who have been leaders in their fields of business, academia, government and other public bodies, either in the UK or internationally.
The five new additions include:
Professor Aled Jones: Director of the Global Sustainability Institute (GSI), Anglia Ruskin University
Professor Xiaolin Li: Dean of the Insurance School, Central University of Finance and Economics (CUFE), Beijing
Professor Donald MacKenzie: Professor of Sociology, University of Edinburgh
Lord Adair Turner: Chairman of the Institute for New Economic Thinking
Professor Zhigang Xie: Professor of Insurance and Actuarial Studies, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics (SUFE)
Honorary fellows have the same voting rights as fellows but are not subject to a member subscription fee.
Arrangements are being made for formal presentations, and further details will be published on the IFoA website shortly.
