Sri Lanka cycle success for O'Brien

2
Congratulations to Andrew O'Brien who has successfully completed his latest challenge to raise money for Adara. Starting on 20 June, Andrew cycled 1,126km all the way down the length of Sri Lanka in nine days, a greater distance than riding from Zurich back to London.

Starting in Chilaw on the west coast of Sri Lanka, he rode 370km to the northernmost point before turning around and cycling 756km to Dondra Head Lighthouse on the southernmost tip.

O'Brien said "It was far tougher than I ever could've imagined.
And it was hard to always appreciate the beauty of my surroundings when focused on just surviving. Yet this remarkable country has kept me entertained during my ride, even if it did make me long to return to running at times! I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported me over the past month. It's been an incredible journey and the money raised means so much to the people of Kiwoko. It makes such a difference to the lives of so many."

To find out more about O'Brien's challenge, please read his tip to tip blog at: srilankatiptotip.wordpress.com
