Employer and area of work

Willis Towers Watson, general and life insurance

How would your best friend describe you?

Having asked and got ridiculous answers, some more serious responses were: "An easy-going guy who likes to spend time around people"; "A hard-working, transparent guy who spends too long in the gym"; and "A ravenous, choir-boy-faced male who enjoys baked Camembert".

What motivates you?

Winning. I am extremely competitive. This drives me to work hard and be the best I can be.

What would be your personal motto?

Work hard. Play hard. Sleep long.

Name five dream companions to be stuck on a desert island with?

Jonny Wilkinson (he was my hero from age 10, I even had his calendar - don't judge me). David Attenborough, because he is a living legend. HM The Queen to see how she dealt with the sand. Michael McIntyre for the wit, and my girlfriend, so she wouldn't miss out on the fun.

What's your most 'actuarial' habit?

I cannot let anything go that isn't completed. Even if it just the crossword on the back of the Evening Standard. Sure I end up googling the answers, but I get it done!

Favourite Excel function?

How could one pick a favourite? Index/Match is pretty handy.

How do you relax away from the office?

I am very active and enjoy going to the gym as well as playing rugby for Southwark. Another favourite thing to do is eat copious amounts of food - a good curry always hits the spot.

What is the funniest thing that has happened to you recently?

While playing in a student actuary's five-a-side league, I managed to score an incredible goal. Unfortunately, it was in the wrong goal.

Alternative career choice?

If I could be anything, talent not an issue - a professional rugby player.

What song best describes your work ethic?

Stronger - Kanye West.

Greatest risk you have ever taken?

I switched university course in the first week. It was only from straight physics to maths and physics, but, given the extra work I was taking on, it felt risky at the time.

If you could go back in history, who would you like to meet?

Albert Einstein.

If there was a movie produced about your life, who would play you, and why?

Zac Efron, as we are practically twins. We both have great singing and dancing skills too…

If you could be anyone else, who would it be?

Maro Itoje, rugby's European Player of the Year and, I believe, England's future captain.
