Launch of first IFoA Asia International GI working party

Open-access content Monday 1st August 2016 — updated 5.50pm, Wednesday 29th April 2020

To enhance engagement and better serve our members based overseas, the IFoA’s GI community has taken a bold step to launch its first international working party, with a focus in Asia.

To enhance engagement and better serve our members based overseas, the IFoA's GI community has taken a bold step to launch its first international working party, with a focus in Asia.

Driven by the GI Board, the working party received much interest following newsletter articles about the idea. After a successful recruitment process the working party sprang to life on 5 July. Its members are based in Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, China, Australia and the UK.

The working party has begun looking at issues relevant to the GI community in South-East Asia and Asia Pacific. This will enable it to decide on the region to be covered and to focus on the most relevant topics. If you have a specific interest in Asia, please email your ideas to [email protected]

The working party will continue to collate and review issues and, where necessary, open its membership to other GI actuaries.
