Symposium highlights new mortality insights

Open-access content Wednesday 3rd December 2014 — updated 5.13pm, Wednesday 29th April 2020

In September, the IFoA Mortality Research Steering Committee welcomed world-class experts to the International Mortality and Longevity Symposium

Delegates had the opportunity to hear from eminent speakers in the fields of biogerontology, longevity, health and health data, and mortality forecasting.

One delegate captured the aims of the symposium perfectly, saying: "A new language is emerging to explain the transition from expert knowledge to dependable assumptions for the future."

A publication summarising the emerging themes, plenaries and workshops is available at bit.ly/1xrTjHU
