Open-access content Monday 4th August 2014 — updated 5.13pm, Wednesday 29th April 2020

Actuaries who lost their lives during the First World War are being remembered by the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA) today.

To coincide with the centenary of the outbreak of the war on 4 August 1914, the institute has published a list of the names, ranks and regiments of the 43 Faculty of Actuaries' members and 82 Institute of Actuaries members who lost their lives in service.

A total of 198 faculty members and 430 institute members served in the armed forces during the 1914-1918 war.

Details of the fallen can be viewed here.
