Gaurang Mehta from City University and Malik Kasmi of Heriot-Watt University took top place for their respective papers on 'Solvency II - is it a panacea?' and 'Bayesian modelling of outstanding liabilities'.

The awards were announced at the SCOR Chairman's Dinner on 22 November 2011 by chairman and chief executive Denis Kessler. Both winners were accompanied by their project supervisors.

The SCOR actuarial prize is awarded for the best papers submitted by students studying for an MSc in actuarial science or risk management at UK universities.
