AGM / Standards Directory / Derivatives IAN / Volunteering

31 MAY 2012 | PROFESSION NEWS

AGM approaching
This year's annual general meeting will be held on Monday 25 June at Staple Inn Hall, London WC1V 7QJ. The event begins at 16.30. Refreshments will be available from 16.00.

Professional Standards Directory update

The Professional Standards Directory is designed to permit members and others to access the standards set by the Board for Actuarial Standards (BAS) together with an up-to-date version of the Actuarial Profession Standards (APSs). In addition, information and assistance notes (IANs) are provided on a number of topics. It's not mandatory to study this material. Update 26 was issued on 11 May.

The risks of derivative exposures: new material
The information and assistance note (IAN) on the risks of derivative exposure (version 1, published on 9 January 2009) has been deleted. Alternative non-mandatory resource material on this topic will be made available on the finance and investment pages of the Profession's website.

Volunteering for the Profession: a win-win opportunity
Discover how you might broaden skills and boost your continuing professional development (CPD) via services to the Profession. Consider the benefits to members and employers, and read about our volunteers' experiences.
If you are interested in getting involved, please view the current volunteer vacancies and sign up for RSS feeds to keep you informed.
