Mr Richardson, pictured, is a qualified actuary with over 20 years' experience in the pensions market. He joins from JLT where he developed corporate advisory business and solutions specialising in strategic de-risking strategies, liability management and insurance transactions.

Mr Richardson was formerly a director at KPMG pensions and a partner at Barnett Waddingham.

His role at Buck will be to drive corporate pensions advice nationally bringing together a range of solutions to help clients control costs and risks.

"Colin is our second recent key hire in the corporate consulting and de-risking space," commented managing director, Europe, Fraser Smart.

"His specialist experience will be invaluable to our clients as demand for our de-risking services continues to increase."

Mr Richardson added: "Companies are increasingly looking for advice on how to manage their pension scheme risk and Buck's holistic approach, combined with proprietary, cost-effective technology puts us in an ideal position to assist. I am delighted to be joining such a highly experienced and specialised team."
