Cole returns to Aon Hewitt

Open-access content Thursday 29th March 2012

Aon Hewitt has announced the return of Sion Cole to its UK investment consulting practice as a senior member of the team.

Mr Cole will primarily act as a specialist client adviser to its delegated consulting businesses in the UK and on mainland Europe, but he will also be a lead investment adviser to other pension schemes.

He rejoins the human resources arm of Aon Corporation from UBS Global Asset Management where he was an executive director and head of UK and Ireland fiduciary management. Here, he acted as a senior adviser and client relationship manager for a number of key UK pension schemes.

The role also gave him responsibility for providing bespoke investment advisory and tailored fiduciary management solutions to schemes, working with both trustees and corporate sponsors.

Prior to this, Mr Cole spent eight years at Hewitt Associates, working as a senior investment consultant and head of the investment client team at its Bristol office. He advised both private and public sector clients and was, Aon said, 'heavily involved' in the development of the company's delegated consulting services.

He is a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries and has a degree in mathematics from Cardiff University.

John Rushen, UK head of investment consulting at Aon Hewitt, said: 'Sion Cole's return to the Investment team at Aon Hewitt is great news for our clients and for us. His time away from the company has added breadth to his already considerable experience and we look forward to him bringing that to bear on the pension schemes of companies both in the UK and on mainland Europe.'
