Mr Winterburn has over 20 years' experience in the corporate pensions market and joins Buck from AEGON UK, where he was most recently head of sales actuarial. This involved him managing a consulting actuary team, focusing on new business development of defined benefit schemes.

In his new role, he will be bringing together a range of solutions available to clients to help them control costs and manage risks. These include tools which aim to support clients in understanding various risks and to provide solutions and options tailored to meet their individual needs.

The appointment was welcomed by the company's managing director, Europe, Fraser Smart. 'Tony is a key hire for Buck. His experience in the corporate pensions market is invaluable as the demand for our de-risking services continues to increase.'

Mr Winterburn added: 'I am delighted to be joining such a high quality, professional, and client focused team.

'With an increasing number of companies now looking to de-risk elements of their pension scheme, a huge opportunity exists to use our skills, experience and cost effective technology to deliver real benefits for our clients.'
