Pollock to head up Barnett Waddingham expert witness work

Open-access content Monday 12th March 2012 — updated 5.13pm, Wednesday 29th April 2020

Barnett Waddingham has appointed Gordon Pollock to head up the expansion of its expert witness work.

2

Mr Pollock was formerly a partner at Mercer and chairman of the Association of Consulting Actuaries. He has extensive private sector pensions experience having acted as scheme actuary to a number of household name pension schemes and he also provided corporate actuarial advice to FTSE100 companies.

Before taking early retirement at Mercer he was their UK chief actuarial officer and had acted as an expert witness for Prudential Assurance Company Limited in the recent Prudential Staff Pension Scheme court case.

Adrian Waddingham, senior partner at Barnett Waddingham, welcomed Mr Pollock's appointment. 'We are pleased to welcome someone with such extensive experience to Barnett Waddingham.

Gordon is a recognised industry heavyweight and his appointment significantly increases our expert witness capabilities at a time when we are seeing an increase in the number of cases that require expert witness support.  Gordon will be working with the current Barnett Waddingham team building on our existing work and developing the firm's name in this specialist field.'
