MetLife Assurance Limited has named Wayne Daniel as chief executive officer with immediate effect.

Mr Daniel, who joined the pension risk transfer specialists in late 2011 as vice-president, succeeds Dan DeKeizer, who is now vice president for global employee benefits at MetLife.
Robin Lenna, executive vice president, MetLife and chairman of MetLife Assurance Limited, said Mr Daniel would bring a unique combination of global leadership and business knowledge to the role.
'We are confident Wayne will continue to build on the tremendous growth achieved by Dan and his team, leading MetLife Assurance to become a preferred provider of pension risk transfer solutions in the UK and Ireland,' he added.
Mr Daniel joined MetLife from Credit Suisse, where he was managing director of longevity markets. During this time he worked on one of the largest longevity swap transactions in the UK.
Prior to this, he was a senior vice president at Sun Life Financial, leading its global reinsurance business. He began his career as a pensions actuary with a large mutual insurer in South Africa and is a qualified Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries.
Mr Daniel said: 'I am very excited to join MetLife at a time when managing pension risk is such a critical issue facing trustees, employers and employees. I look forward to leading the team in developing tailored solutions for scheme sponsors and trustees that ensure their members' benefits are protected.'
