News of recent births, deaths and marriages in the actuarial world

Births
Vicki (formerly of Towers Watson) and Mark Smith (of Towers Watson) are delighted to announce the birth of their daughter Lucy Eirlys (pictured above), sister to Joseph Joachim, born on 27 December 2011.

Elliot Begley; Ryan Begley

Kevin Begley (Towers Watson (Ireland)) and Majella O'Sullivan are pleased to announce the birth of Elliot Begley on 12 December 2011, a little brother for Ryan.

Engagements
Jonathan Bowden (PwC) and Manuela Wight have announced their engagement, on 28 January, after eight years together.


Deaths
James LANG died on 6 October 2011, aged 76. He became a Fellow of the Institute in 1962.

David Herbert KINGSTON died on 7 January 2012, aged 79. He became a Fellow of the Institute in 1959.

Paul JOHANSEN died recently, aged 101. He became a Fellow of the Institute in 1957.
