FSA's Wendy Hawes makes move to LCP

Open-access content Monday 20th February 2012 — updated 5.13pm, Wednesday 29th April 2020

LCP has announced the appointment of senior general insurance actuary Wendy Hawes as a principal in its Insurance Consulting practice.

Ms Hawes joins after 11 years at the Financial Services Authority (FSA) where she was part of the team responsible for the implementation of both the ICAS regime and the Solvency II internal model approval process.

Prior to her time at the regulator, Ms Hawes' experience includes roles at the Government Actuary's Department and in academia.

"Having dealt with a variety of consulting actuaries, I was attracted to LCP's personal approach to working with their clients," she said.

"One area where I aim to help is in showing board members how they can meet the evolving regulatory demands in a way that also adds value to the running of their businesses."

LCP partner Charl Cronje added: "Wendy's exceptionally deep knowledge of the regulatory landscape is matched by a refreshing enthusiasm for helping insurers to do things better. Wendy's experience gives her a unique perspective that will benefit our clients greatly."
