100 up for Barnett Waddingham

Open-access content Thursday 12th January 2012 — updated 5.13pm, Wednesday 29th April 2020

Barnett Waddingham has announced that six of its staff have recently become newly qualified actuaries, bringing the firm’s nationwide total of qualified actuaries to 100.

The firm's new Fellows of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries are Chris Ramsey from the London office, Jon Maude (Amersham), Mel Stephenson and Geoff Howard (Cheltenham), Scott McGarva (Glasgow), and Sarah Franklin (Bromsgrove).

Barnett Waddingham is also celebrating a 100% pass rate for its actuarial students taking the latest round of core applications (CA1) actuarial exams, which the firm noted compared with the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries' average pass rate of 47%.

Adrian Waddingham, senior partner said: "The outstanding pass rate of 100% in the latest CA1 exam and the impressive performance of our people in the other subjects is a demonstration of Barnett Waddingham's commitment to developing our people to the best of their abilities. On behalf of everyone at the firm I would also like to congratulate each of our newly qualified actuaries. We are proud of the steady increase in the number of high calibre individuals working at Barnett Waddingham and the fact we now have more than 100 actuaries firmly places us as the UK's largest independent firm of actuaries and consultants".
