Maybury makes move to Schroders

Open-access content Wednesday 11th January 2012 — updated 5.13pm, Wednesday 29th April 2020

Schroders has announced the appointment of Ian Maybury in the newly created role of head of solutions management in its Multi-Asset and Portfolio Solutions Group.

Mr Maybury joins from Redington where he was co-head of asset liability management & investment strategy, and will further strengthen Schroders' LDI team, headed up by Andy Connell.

Prior to Redington, Mr Maybury established a centre of excellence in insurance and pensions asset liability management and capital management at Citigroup. His experience also extends to being a trustee of various pension schemes.

Mr Maybury holds a first class honours degree in mathematics from the University of Southampton, and is a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries.

Nico Marais, head of Multi-Asset and Portfolio Solutions at Schroders said: "We have been pleased with the rapid growth of our Solutions Management business over the last three years and it continues to be a strategic priority. We see continued significant demand for outcome orientated solutions which have embedded sophisticated risk management strategies. We are therefore delighted that Ian is joining our team and look forward to making available his insights and experience to our clients in the spring."

Andy Connell, head of LDI commented: "Adding Ian to the team underlines Schroders' commitment to delivering bespoke funding risk management solutions to our clients and will ensure that we maintain the highest levels of client focus as the business continues to grow."
