On 9 September 2022, the Adjudication Panel considered an allegation of misconduct against Mr Murat Asiliskender (the respondent).
The panel found evidence to support the allegation that he worked on a project for Insurer B under a sub-consultancy agreement with Consultancy C, while employed on a full-time basis for Insurer A, and that his actions created a potential conflict of interest.
The panel found that this was in breach of the Impartiality principle of the Actuaries’ Code (version 3.0) and that the allegations disclosed a prima facie case of misconduct. In considering sanction, the panel considered all relevant information and was satisfied that the appropriate and proportionate sanction in this case was a reprimand and a fine of £2,000.
