Thematic review on equity release mortgages

Open-access content Wednesday 1st December 2021

The market for equity release mortgages continues to grow, and actuaries have an important role to play in this broad and complex area.

Thematic review on equity release mortgages

The IFoA Review Team has recently launched the Equity Release Mortgages Thematic Review, which will consider the work carried out by actuaries in this area – in particular their role in propositions and pricing activity.

The review aims to provide insights on actuaries’ involvement, along with bespoke feedback for participating actuaries and organisations. It is hoped that the findings will be of broader interest as the market for this product continues to grow, with ongoing wider regulatory focus.

The review is open to submissions until 4 March 2022. To take part in this exercise, and for more information on planned reviews, please visit bit.ly/IFoA_Reviews or contact the IFoA Review Team a [email protected]
