Annual General Meeting – 24 June

Open-access content Wednesday 2nd June 2021

All IFoA members are invited to attend the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the IFoA on Thursday, 24 June at 9.30am BST. Members who join the meeting will have the option to submit questions to presenters on the day.

The Diabetes Working Party was set up in 2018, and the group has progressed to a stage of commissioning funded research through the IFoA’s Actuarial Research Centre.

Adjudication Panel: Mr Christopher J Mapp

On 27 and 28 January 2021 the Adjudication Panel considered an allegation of misconduct against Mr Mapp (the respondent). The respondent was a Fellow between 1990 and 2019 and the allegations relate to his role as scheme actuary to Plan A in the period 2009-2011.

Council Elections are now open

This year’s election for vacant seats on Council is now open. If you are a Fellow or an Associate of the IFoA and are registered in the General constituency, you are eligible to vote in this year’s election. There is no election in the Scottish constituency this year.

Actuarial Profession Standard Z1: have your say

The IFoA is consulting on proposals to introduce a revised Actuarial Profession Standard (APS) Z1 on ‘Duties and responsibilities of members undertaking work in relation to UK trust-based pre-paid funeral plans’. APS Z1 sets out specific ethical and professional obligations that apply, in addition to the Actuaries’ Code, for members providing advice relating to funeral plan trusts.
