New sustainability and lifelong learning web pages

Open-access content Wednesday 7th April 2021

Our new sustainability and lifelong learning web pages include resources and materials that will support you in understanding climate risks and opportunities.

Read IFoA president Tan Suee Chieh and president-elect Louise Pryor’s introduction to the new web pages at bit.ly/3vsWsub

Resources include a comprehensive curated reading list relating to climate change (bit.ly/3bR9vxN). Mike Clark, who curated the reading list on behalf of the Sustainability Board, explained: “The reading list guide I wrote is meant to help actuaries ‘help their clients before their clients ask’. Climate change is the biggest actuarial business opportunity of the decade.”

The reading list guide brings together everything from the Paris Agreement to laws, policies and regulation details, providing information in digestible, curated chunks so the reader does not have to navigate myriad articles. Further information on sustainability is included, and additional curated lists will follow on subjects such as biodiversity and systems thinking.

If you have feedback on the pages, let us know at EP&[email protected]
