Volunteers sought for CA3 Practical Exams

The Profession is looking to attract volunteers to help with the CA3 Communications Practical Exam. This exam covers both written and presentation skills and is based on both the concepts in the core technical subjects with questions being set within a financial framework, which will need a knowledge of CA1.

Qualified fellow volunteers are sought to act as:
>> CA3 Lead Assessors. This would involve attending day two of the practical exam to work alongside a non-actuary to undertake the assessment of 20 students as they deliver their presentations.
>> CA3 Assistant Examiner. This will involve marking the exam assignments (up to 20 scripts per exam; timescale: three to four weeks) and attending an annual CA3 Assessors Day.

For both of these roles you will need to have the time and commitment to meet the requirements and an understanding of presentation and communication skills. In return, you would be gaining additional skills, involvement in a new and dynamic part of the qualification, verifiable CPD hours and honoraria payments.

If you would like more details or would like to be considered for a role, please contact Patrina Effer patrina.effer@actuaries.org.uk.
