OAC actuaries to tackle Three Peaks Challenge in aid of Cancer Research

The circular route starts and finishes at Horton-in-Ribblesdale. Although the walkers will not be too far away from civilisation, the long walk is very demanding and will present huge personal challenges. It is meant to take around 12 hours to complete, and the group hopes to finish the circuit within daylight hours.

On the same day, another group of OAC staff, friends and family, including children, will be undertaking a shorter circular route of five miles which takes them around the viaduct at Ribblehead.

Cancer Research UK is the world's leading charity dedicated to beating cancer through research. Every two minutes in the UK someone is diagnosed with cancer. However, with advances in research and medical care, survival rates have doubled in the last 30 years, and it is hoped that this will continue to improve.

The charity was chosen as one that touches many people's lives, and the OAC staff have their own stories how cancer has affected colleagues, friends and family.

Charitable donations for both walks can be made by the following methods:

• Just Giving website www.justgiving.com/oacactuariesandconsultants

• Send text to 70070 with THKS70 £10 - this will donate £10, but you can use £1, £2, £3, £4 or £5 instead. These donations are anonymous but in the confirmation text after your donation there will be a link to go to the Just Giving website to personalise your donation, including an option to select Gift Aid.
