Krishnaswamy to head Hymans Robertson ERM practice

Mr Krishnaswamy has over a decade of experience in the banking and finance sector in a variety of roles. Prior to the FSA, he held front-office, strategy, risk and capital management positions at several organisations including Standard Chartered Bank and KPMG.

Douglas Anderson, partner at Hymans Robertson, said: "Banks and insurers are increasingly searching for smarter ways to efficiently derive value from shareholders' capital. The formation of our ERM practice recognises the growing demand from these companies for the type of actuarial skills that we have always possessed in order to address this issue.

"Vijay is a seasoned risk professional with a unique background in banking, consulting and latterly regulation from his role at the FSA. He immediately impressed us as a cultural translator, bridging the often disjointed worlds of technical modelling and commercial reality. He also has a great track record of strong client service and independent, tailored advice - attributes that will serve him well at Hymans Robertson."

"Vijay joins us at a crucial time for our business. His depth of experience in the banking sector extends the range of our risk management capabilities at the start of what promises to be a challenging and exciting new period for our firm."

Vijay Krishnaswamy said: "Events in financial markets in recent years and the regulatory changes that these have triggered have magnified the need for sound risk and capital management in major financial institutions. I am looking forward to providing hands-on and decision-oriented advice to Hymans Robertson's wide range of clients, building on my recent experience with the FSA."
