Aspen research head awarded Brian Hey prize

The prize recognised the practical application for general insurance actuaries of Dr Lo's paper detailing an enhancement to a popular methodology for the modelling of reserving risk.

Commenting on the award, Paul Koslover, Aspen's group chief actuary, said, "I am particularly pleased that the work of Joseph and his team has been recognised at such a prestigious event. The prize reflects not only the quality of our research and development, but the ability of the risk management and actuarial functions to collaborate in providing holistic solutions. These approaches are central to quantitative risk management at Aspen."

The Actuarial Profession's GIRO conference is the premier professional event for UK general insurance actuaries and was attended by more than 500 delegates this year.
