The good, the bad, and the risky

John Gill, chairman of the Action Group for Banking, welcomed 80 people to the banking seminar on Basel II entitled ‘The good, the bad, and the risky’, held at Staple Inn on 21 November 2002. The event looked at Basel II’s implications for capital management in banks and also in life offices and consequently attracted actuaries from both areas. With John are seminar speakers Bruce Porteous of Standard Life Bank, Andrew Smith of HBOS, and Alan Hilton of Barclays Bank plc. If you missed the event and would like electronic versions of the presentations, please contact Pat Rustem at Staple Inn, email patr@actuaries.org.uk.
