A closer look at Solvency II 28 April, Royal College of Physicians, London
This multidisciplinary seminar will focus exclusively on Solvency II in the general insurance, health and care and life practice areas.

The aim of the day is to provide the latest thinking from a variety of leading practitioners and others involved in implementing the new regime, with a deliberate inclusion of a number of topics that have received less focus in the debate so far. It aims to focus on all three pillars of Solvency II. For further information, visit www.actuaries.org.uk/conf/solvency2

Current issues in general insurance (CIGI) 10 May, Royal College of Physicians, London
Recent years have seen exceptional economic conditions, presenting the industry with many difficulties. As a result, there has never been a greater demand for actuarial skills and services. However, in this constantly changing environment there is a wide variety of issues for a general insurance actuary to keep on top of. What is needed is a one-stop shop where the actuary can keep up to date with the key issues. The good news is that such an event is here in the form of the 2010 CIGI seminar!

Current issues in life assurance (CILA) 11 May 2010, Royal College of Physicians, London
Solvency II represents a huge project for many actuaries, although it is by no means the only issue faced. It is therefore more important than ever that senior actuaries, whose advice the life assurance industry relies upon, continue to ensure their knowledge is up to date and that they are exposed to the leading-edge thinking of their peers, regulators and those from related industries with relevant input.

This seminar looks at how new standards are affecting life actuaries, how the FSA’s views are changing, and brings new issues to your attention. It is regarded as the ‘must attend’ event for life-practising certificate holders. Further information will be available at www.actuaries.org.uk in the coming weeks.
