Actuary honoured

Michael Harvey is the first actuary to be appointed master of the Guild of Scriveners of the City of York. In his installation speech at a ceremony on Wednesday 28 June Michael confirmed that he wished to continue to expand the guild’s involvement in fund-raising and educational activities for his chosen local charities and to support the pageantry and civic life of the city. A series of events is being organised for his year of office to raise funds for the master’s two charities – Martin House Hospice and York Childcare, both involved in support for the family and children. The main fundraising event is the Assize of Ale, starting from the steps of the Mansion House, York at 2pm on Saturday 13 August 2005.
