2 + 2 = ?

... = 236 in my book, being the seating capacity of a traditional long-distance Southern slam-door electric train with two wider seats either side of the gangway. On the other hand, 2 + 3 = 302, for a similar outer suburban train with narrower seats five across (two one side and three the other side of the gangway).

Useful information to know if you are planning charters, one of the things that I do in my spare time – there is a farewell to slam-door trains trip from Victoria Station on Saturday 19 November if anyone is interested (see www.southernelectric.org.uk).

Any advance on 236?
