Beyond the CPD

Under the new CPD arrangements, it seems that activities give rise to CPD requirements whether or not the activities are actuarial and whether or not they are paid. I accept that, as honorary plumber to my local Methodist church, whatever I do I should do well. However, I doubt if the reputation of the profession depends upon my efforts in this regard.

More puzzlingly, it seems to be accepted that those things which I do for the profession and which I regard as fulfilling CPD requirements, do themselves give rise to a further CPD requirement in respect of them. It would therefore seem that the CPD requirement is an infinite series of which the end can never be reached. But is it a convergent series?
