Amoroso hailed as Insurance Woman of the Year

The Association of Professional Insurance Women has named Rebecca Amoroso as its Insurance Woman of the Year. Amoroso is vice-chairman and US insurance industry group leader at Deloitte, where she has worked for 22 years. Her first eight years in the industry were spent with American International Group and the Insurance Services Office. At Deloitte, she oversees more than 2000 insurance practitioners in over 50 cities across the US and sits on the steering committee of Deloitte’s Women’s Initiative. Amoroso is a fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries. She has previously been honoured as one of the Top 50 Hispanic Women in Business, and Working Mother magazine has named her one of its top 10 corporate multicultural women. The Insurance Woman of the Year Award, first presented in 1976, recognises exceptional women that have achieved prominence in their profession and have made significant contributions to the insurance industry. She will be honoured at a New York awards ceremony in July.
