A bit in the corner

Chris Watts, an actuary with Barnett Waddingham, will be competing in the Ironman Triathlon World Championships in Hawaii on 18 October. The race (!) consists of a 2.4-mile sea swim, a 112-mile cycle ride, and finally a 26.2-mile run. About 1,500 men and women will take part. Chris anticipates stopping racing and starting surviving somewhere near the beginning of the swim.

Aside from training for the race, Chris is also raising money for a local Hawaiian charity. The money Chris raises will go towards building a YMCA facility on the big Hawaiian island.

If anyone would like to make a donation or receive an update on Chris’s sanity he can be emailed at chris.watts@barnett-waddingham.co.uk.
