Almost 10 million people employed by renewable energy sector

There were more than 9.8 million people employed in the renewable energy sector globally in 2016, signifying a 1.1% increase since 2015, according to a report by the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA).

Actuaries doing their bit

At a recent event I was reminded that there are about 4,000 members who volunteer for the IFoA, almost 15% of the profession. It’s quite a staggering number really, and underlines just how big a part members play in driving our profession forward.
