
In February, BBC presenter Huw Edwards, supported by former IFoA president Louise Pryor and IFoA librarian David Raymont (pictured), unveiled a blue English Heritage plaque dedicated to Welsh preacher and mathematician Dr Richard Price, 300 years after his birth. Considered by many to be the very first actuary, Price lived at number 54 (originally number 43) Newington Green, north London, from 1758 to 1787.
