Spotlight on volunteering – Disciplinary Panel Pool

Open-access content Wednesday 4th May 2022

Are you a Fellow with an interest in professional discipline and standards? If so, would you be interested in joining our pool of actuary panel members?

ree

Allegations about professional misconduct against members are dealt with under the IFoA’s Disciplinary and Capacity for Membership Schemes. The Panel Pool is a group of actuary and lay members of the IFoA who convene in disciplinary panels of three to hear allegations of misconduct that have been investigated under the scheme.

The principal role of the panel is to consider the merits of each case and reach a decision on the facts and any appropriate and proportionate outcome that is sufficient to meet public interest considerations.

This is an excellent IFoA volunteer appointment opportunity, allowing you to give back to the profession and better understand the types of conduct issues that are dealt with under the scheme while also enhancing your decision-making skills.
