The Actuary sub-editor lays out his charity plans

Sam was training for the Bournemouth Bay half-marathon earlier in the year, but had to withdraw a week before the event after injuring his knee while training. He has since recovered, and all previous donations are going towards this new challenge.

Sam said: “Rapidly following on from my victory in the Year 6 75-metre sprint in 1996, the next event I have chosen to run is the New Forest half-marathon in 25 September. My chosen charity is the Myasthenia Gravis Association, which offers support to sufferers of the auto-immune disease — a cause close to me as my mother is afflicted by it.”
