Russell Investments adds directors to consulting and advisory team

Both will be based in the firm's London office and will report to Sorca Kelly-Scholte (pictured), managing director of Russell’s consulting and advisory services team.

Mr Lace will focus on UK institutional investors (including both defined benefit and defined contribution pension schemes). He joins from Mercer where he was a member of the asset allocation committee as well as a member of the alternatives committee.

Mr Lace previously worked for Watson Wyatt where he headed up the Watson Wyatt DC investment consulting team as well as working extensively with UK pension funds.

Mr Spencer has taken up the role of director, consulting with responsibility for supporting the business in the retail and insurance sector in Europe, with a focus on developing solutions for financial intermediary partners and clients.

He joins from GAM, where he headed up the institutional business for the UK, Ireland and the Netherlands. Prior to that, Mr Spencer worked at Lehman Asset Management as part of the Pensions Advisory & Strategic Partnerships team, focused on developing alternative investment solutions for clients and prospects.

Mr Spencer started his career at Bacon & Woodrow (now Aon Hewitt) where he spent almost a decade, first in the actuarial business and latterly in the investment consulting business.

Ms Kelly-Scholte, managing director, said: “We are excited to welcome both Crispin and Nick to the consulting team here at Russell. They both have a strong history in the industry and bring with them a wealth of experience in advising UK pension funds to their new roles at Russell.”
