Rising subscription numbers following new design of AAS and BAJ journals

Feedback on the new design and larger format has been very positive. All AAS and BAJ back issues are now live on the Cambridge Journals Online platform and the archive of BAJ predecessors, Journal of the Institute of Actuaries and Transactions of the Faculty of Actuaries is due to follow.

As a result of including the journals in sales to consortia as part of a journals package, the total number of subscribers to both journals has risen to 1515 and is still increasing as CUP process subscription renewals. In addition, between January and May 2011, 257 abstract views and 96 full text views were recorded for BAJ on Cambridge Journals Online and 1337 abstract views and 799 full text views were recorded for AAS. The increased profile of the journals has already translated into an increase in numbers of papers submitted to AAS.

Among the top 10 heaviest users
of the Profession’s journals online are the University of Cambridge, University College Dublin, the University of Nottingham, the University of Southampton, the University of
Calgary, Canada, Tianjin University of Finance and Economics, China, and Purdue University, USA.
