CMI changes

A most enjoyable dinner was held by the Continuous Mortality Investigation (CMI) on 5 October to mark the retirement, on 1 July 2004, of Peter Nowell and Chris Daykin from the executive committee. Peter had been chairman for five years and Chris had done a 25-year stint. Brian Ridsdale is the new chairman of the CMI. David Wilkie is a former holder of that post and although no longer on the executive committee is a current member of the IP Committee and of the various working parties. Brian paid tribute to both Peter and Chris and thanked them for their considerable contributions to the success of the CMI. The dinner was attended by a good number of members of the CMI’s committees and by Institute president Michael Pomery.
